Dwarf fortress corpses not being buried

WebDec 29, 2024 · Version 0.44.12-r1. After some years of fighting, I have a 200 squares corpse stockpile filled with mostly "partial skeletons". I don't really know if they are all dwarves or not and I wonder what I could/should or shouldn't do with them. I thought that partial parts of a dwarf would be put in his/her tomb along with the main body. WebDec 8, 2024 · Realized the first dwarf that died basically claimed the mass-tomb for the regular dwarves. Removed the tomb designation, and painted it in 2 blocks per coffin that I already had there. Suddenly my dwarves went and pulled all the rotten corpses out of the dump and properly burried them. Hope they dont feel too terrible for that experience.
