WebJun 11, 2007 · In this paper, we present a new design called in-page logging (IPL) for flash memory based database servers. This new design overcomes the limitations of flash memory such as high write latency, and exploits unique characteristics of flash memory to achieve the best attainable performance for flash-based database servers. WebFlash memory − Write performance is poor (worse than disk) for non-sequential accesses due to out-of-place update and erase operations − Demonstrate the need of write optimization for DBMS running on Flash Disk Flash Sequential 34.0 sec 26.0 sec Non -sequential 151.9 ~ 340.7 sec 61.8 ~ 369.9 sec
